Who: Sigma & Whoever is around
When: Month of December
Where: The Park (Christmasland)
Warnings: Will Update As Necessary
Entering the park and discovering its transformation was certainly an experience in Sigma’s honest opinion.
He had stopped within the entrance that morning, fingers wrapped tightly around a travel mug full of cocoa. His eyes narrowed at the sight of trees, decorations and new rides, with an expression that can only be described as a man trying to figure out if he hit his head at some point and was hallucinating. Sure, he’d taken a few tumbles on his way here, slipping on the ice patches or sinking into the snow awkwardly on the road to get to the Park, but he was pretty sure he hadn’t…
So that meant this was real and had seemingly happened rather spontaneously. “O…kay.” Finally escapes him, the tone both resigned and uncertain as to what he was dealing with here. Christmas, obviously, not that he’d ever really put much thought into the holiday before. What he was uncertain about was what to expect from all of this, given how the last seasonal traditions in this place had manifested and the results thereof.
He’s not sure how someone with as unique origins as himself continued to feel like the most normal thing in the environment, but it continued to prove to be the case.
Taking a long sip from his travel mug, he trudged towards the start of his day.
Option A
The sun had gradually sunk below the horizon and Sigma had eventually seen a gradual lull in people at the ticket booth and moved on to his other duties around the park. How he was supposed to man the ticket booth, the games and other assorted maintenance was beyond him… But he had always been a workaholic, and it was now more apparent to him that this world knew that in its... unnatural way. No wonder he’d been given this job, in hindsight. “I see you have your eyes on the prizes. Would you like to try your luck and skills?” He asked with a charming smile and light, innocent tone.
The game in question currently being a standard throw the ball knock the targets over, but themed with rather eerie (in his opinion) nutcrackers as a vaguely familiar classical suite played out of speakers behind him. Although even he would note that it’s not played in the correct key, giving it an odd quality… He’d have to check that later, he thinks. Not that he was skilled with electronics, but if the recording mysteriously disappeared, surely no one would fault him for it.
Option B
Sigma had finally slipped away from his duties to take a break, and a chance to properly explore his now changed place of work. He had stopped at the food stands, waiting in line to get something to eat while he watched patrons moved about here and there, eyes following a group of kids-
“Huh…?” His eyes widened a fraction, the sight nagging at the back of his mind. Had he ever seen kids here before? For that matter, had he seen children around the city at all? Teenagers, yeah, of course… But children… Had he missed that, somehow? Surely it wasn’t that strange of a sight, right…? Children were a normal occurrence anywhere. Everyone (aside from himself) had been a child at some point and there were enough people in the city to probably have started families of their own and have their own kids…
“Have I just not noticed them before…?” Sigma mumbled to himself, frowning as he stepped forward in queue as the line started to grow shorter. No, he had a memory like a steel trap, if he didn’t remember them... Shaking his head, he tried to not jump to ridiculous conclusions. He’d have to ask the others, see if he was just being oblivious or if maybe the few people that he’d talked to had seen them before or not.
And there was something not right about them, wasn’t there? Something felt off to the man, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it yet. At least not from this distance… Maybe it was just a general paranoia.
